The Latinx/e in Social Work summit is an opportunity for participants to understand the power of stories.
Latinx/e in Social Work is a book about space. The space we take up, the spaces we create and nurture, and the spaces that have yet to exist but are crucial to the growth and development of Latinx social workers, mental health practitioners, executives, and professionals in all industries in this country and beyond.
Contributing authors from New York, the tri-state area, and Dr. Leti from DFW will share their stories through excerpt readings and discussions about how their stories have impacted their work. Participants will be given opportunities to dialog with the authors and are invited to a meet-and-greet book signing event afterward.
This event is a pivotal start to the more extensive conversation about how we show up and serve the Hispanic community and their mental health in a culturally sensitive way.
